Spring Break Vacation – 2nd day

I wanted to do a post on each day of our vacation. Unfortunately I've waited so long now I don't remember day by day. Boo! I believe the second day started with us being suckered into a second time share presentation. We were there about 4 times longer than they said, got sandwiches for breakfast, and left about $5,000 poorer. That's ok, it's an investment into family togetherness right? Hahaha. We were so strong at saying no the first 6 times. Then somewhere the no turned into a yes J

The kids did get to play in a really fun play room (after 2 hours of non fun-poor professor kiddos). Jordan had insisted on weaaing lightning Mcqueen undies, with no diaper, to the time share presentation. I thought "well, it's only going to be an hour, that will be fine." Our 1 hour turned into 3 or 4. I had forgotten he was underwear boy and thus forgot to remind him about the potty every hour.

Consequently we had a little break which included mommy and Jordan walking back to the Daisy (our condo tower), mommy forgetting the room number (no it wasn't on the key card), mommy not wanting to walk ALL THE WAY back to the sucker station, cell-phone-less mommy using several precious minutes to muster up the courage to ask a stranger for the use of their cell phone to ask husband for room number, mommy and Jordan having 1 gooey Lightning Mcqueen mess, Jordan getting a burst of silly energy and darting away during the cleaning process and rolling all over the sheets, mommy washing the sheets, and daddy coming back to the room to see what was taking so long.

After that we had a marvelous day. Some friends who live in Henderson recommend ed som really nice non-tourist destinations. We were so glad we followed their advise. We went to Towne Square, VERY south on the strip. The location was perfect for us though because we were even further South. They had a child play ground in the middle complete with various tree houses, play houses, and an artifical shrub maze. The kids went wild. There were also balloon makers, live music, and Yogurt Land! I love Yogurt Land.

Yogurt Land- a small frozen yogurt shop. You walk in, grab the one size cup, and fill your own frozen yogurt. There were about 12 flavors to choose from and every 2 flavors offered a twist option. Then you choose and distribute your own toppings. Afterward they weigh it and you pay it, .33 an ounce. It was so fun and delicious. Derek and I really liked the Yarrow one. It was a relaly yummy nutty flavor. We ate our yogurt in the sun on the perfectly manicured fake grass and listened to the live music. I would love to go shopping at towne square.

After that We went to the Silverton Hotel and Casino to see them feed the fish in their aquarium. We're all about the free. If you notice we've only paid for yogurt so far! …and the time share hahaha. There was an instructor in scuba gear feeding the fish shrimp while she told us about them. I'd never seen sting rays eat before. It was very cool. There was a plethera of fish in that 360 degree tank. We loved it. We also enjoyed looking the beautiful mermaid painings.

Now we went their for the aquarium, but accidentally found one of our favorite places. The Bass pro shop! This store was humongous! There was over 4 acres, 2 stories of extreme taxadermy. My kids are animal nuts and they loved it. There was also a ravine. The cliffs of this revine were decorated with stuffed animals and flowing waterfalls. The bottom was a pond with ducks. The entire store was beautiful. In addition to the extravagant scenes that they had created was an indoor archery range, golf driving range, fishing demonstration tank, and a shooting gallery. Jadelyn loved lerarning to shoot the gun and was actually really good!

The only bummer to the day was that Jadelyn, with my assistance L, lost her jacket at the gigantic pro bass shop. We couldn't find it and the loss of it haunted her for several days after. Don't worry, they finally had it turned in and we retrieved the jacket a few days later.

We were loving our vacation. We enjoyed eachothers company so much and got to do and see really great things, and bonus, we didn't even have to go to the naked side of town! In fact we didn't visit the naked side of town until Tuesday.
